Significant thermal dissipation capability. Used as emitter resistors in class AB transistor amplifiers, ballasts for AC-line LED strings, input current limiters in PSUs, and thermal-stabilizing resistors for tube operating points. Common in guitar amps and Hi-Fi gear.
