Varistors (MOVs)

Metal-oxide varistors (MOVs) protect equipment from transient overvoltages on 230 V mains and low-voltage rails. Disc types 5-20 mm in 7D, 10D, 14D, and 20D series, plus SMD varistors. Filter by working voltage AC/DC, clamping voltage, energy absorption (J), peak surge current (kA), and disc diameter. Used at power supply inputs, in surge protectors, automation cabinets, and household appliances to protect against lightning and switching transients. Often combined with gas discharge tubes and TVS diodes in multi-stage protection.
